Compartment syndrome of the foot secondary to fixation of ankle fracture--a case report.

Compartment syndrome in the leg after open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of ankle fractures is rare. Compartment syndrome in the foot after ORIF of ankle fractures has not been reported before. A high degree of vigilance must be exercised when managing these fractures in order to avoid complications and morbidity.
