Arteriovenous malformation of the mandible: successful management by buccal window approach.

Vidya Rattan1, Amit Sethi.

Abstract

Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) of the mandible is relatively rare, and is often treated by resection of the mandible. We describe embolisation followed by removal of the buccal cortical plate, which was later replaced. This way the original mandibular architecture was preserved while the morbidity associated with resection was prevented. Copyright 2010 The British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
