Abstract
The presence of circulating cell-free DNA was demonstrated already in the 1940s. Improved detection methods have led to increased knowledge on cell-free DNA, and recent studies showed that most cancer patients have increased levels of cell-free DNA. Measurement of cell-free DNA allowed sensitive and specific discrimination between cancer patients and those with non-malignant diseases.Entities:
