Abstract
BACKGROUND: Hypertension is a major risk factor for many cardiovascular diseases in developing countries. A comprehensive review of the prevalence of hypertension provides crucial information for the evaluation and implementation of appropriate programmes.Entities:

cHypertensives on medication whose blood pressure measured during the study was less than140/90 mm Hg were considered to have controlled blood pressure controlled.
