Abstract

BHV-1 is an important pathogen of cattle. Because of its ability to induce immune suppression, BHV-1 is an important agent in the multifactorial disorder, bovine respiratory disease complex (BRDC). BHV-1 encodes several proteins that inhibit various arms of the immune system suggesting that these proteins are important in the development of BRDC. Copyright 2010 Elsevier Inc.
