Anticoagulation therapy for vertebral artery stump syndrome.

Abstract

There are very few reports describing the presence of a stump embolism after vertebral artery occlusion. We describe three patients who presented with posterior circulation ischemic strokes after vertebral artery occlusion. These patients were successfully treated with anticoagulation therapy without surgical or endovascular treatment. Copyright (c) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
