Abstract
True aneurysms of tibial artery are rare occurrences and their rupture is really rare. We report the case of a 59-year-old man who, after an episode of bacterial endocarditis, presented a posterior tibial aneurysm formation evolved in rupture. To our knowledge, this is the first case of a true giant aneurysm rupture of the posterior tibial artery (diameter, 6 cm). The treatment consisted of aneurysmectomy and surgical arterial ligation. A follow-up of 24 months was performed with good results.Entities:
