Abstract
SUMMARY: Angiogenesis, defined as a new blood vessel formation from a pre-existing vessel, is initiated by angiogenic growth factors and their receptors that induce endothelial cell migration and proliferation. Extracellular proteolysis is essential for deassembly and reassembly of endothelial cells to their environmental matrix.
