Abstract
Acute chest syndrome is a common cause of death among patients with sickle cell disease, and an unfamiliar condition to most Australian medical practitioners. We present a case of acute chest syndrome successfully treated with inhaled nitric oxide and exchange transfusion. In the discussion we review current and future management options of acute chest syndrome.Entities:
