Abstract
BACKGROUND: Sedentary behavior is considered a separate construct from physical activity and engaging in sedentary behaviors results in health effects independent of physical activity levels. A major source of sedentary behavior in children is time spent viewing TV or movies, playing video games, and using computers. To date no study has examined the impact of neighborhood socioeconomic status (SES) on pre-school children's screen time behavior.Entities:

SES = Socioeconomic Status.
Regression coefficients are interpreted as the difference in screen time (mins/week) from the reference category.
a The boys screen time model was adjusted for age, day care, BMI, the boys TV/movie model was adjusted for day care physical activity concerns, and BMI. The girls screen time model was adjusted for day care, and the girls TV/movie model was adjusted for physical activity concerns.
