Abstract
BACKGROUND: Individuals with a self-reported history of sexually transmitted infection (STI) are at high risk for depression. However, little is known about how social support affects the association between STI and depression among young women in Canada.Entities:

Figure 1.Adjusted prevalence ratios and 95% confidence intervals for depression in women aged 15–24 years with low and intermediate levels of the 4 domains of social support versus a high level of such support (Canadian Community Health Survey, 2005). Separate multiple log-binomial regression models indicated that the association between self-reported STI and depression was not significant after controlling for each type of social support.
