The quiet revolution: Disorders of sex development.

Ieuan A Hughes1.

Abstract

The approach to the management of disorders of sex development (DSD) has undergone major changes in recent years. The catalyst has been a revised nomenclature, new classification of the causes of DSD and a willingness for health professionals to work in a multi-disciplinary format. In a remarkably short length of time, these revolutionary changes are becoming accepted practice across a range of medical and scientific disciplines. Copyright (c) 2010 Elsevier Ltd.
