The oxygenation of thieno[2,3-b]thiophenes.

Abstract

Members of thieno[2,3-b]thiophenes were oxidized using the HOF.CH(3)CN complex, transforming the sulfur atom to the corresponding sulfonyl group in high yield and under very mild conditions.
