Abstract

We retrospectively analyzed long-term follow-up data for 15 patients after treatment for posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA) aneurysm, particularly in relation to disability as assessed using the Modified Rankin Scale (MRS) score. Patients had a mean follow-up of 38 months. At follow-up, 53% of patients, those with an MRS score of 3, were able to lead an independent life, despite minor deficits. Patients with larger aneurysms may be more susceptible to lower cranial nerve palsies. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
