Working with Inner-City Families: An ecological approach for the family physician.

W J Watson, W Wetzel, S Devanesen.

Abstract

Many of the health problems in inner-city families require an ecological approach that takes into account the many destabilizing factors urban families face daily, the individual's own development, and the psychosocial and environmental factors known to influence health. Serious health concerns of the inner city, especially social inequalities and isolation, unemployment, and lack of affordable housing, must still be addressed.
