Intestinal bypass for obesity.

Abstract

Intestinal bypass procedures are experimental attempts to cause irreversible weight loss in the morbidly obese. Metabolic and psychosocial effects are examined. The author points out some real dangers in the procedure and urges careful selection and followup by a team.
