Abstract
Chronic physical disabilities constitute a significant proportion of a family physician's practice. Transactional and systems parameters must be examined, and the family unit must be an integral part of the rehabilitation process. Studies supporting this contention are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on the behavioral component or disability, rather than biological impairment.Entities:
