Geriatrics equals multiplex medicine.

C I Gryfe.

Abstract

Diseases increase in frequency with advancing age but clinical methods of recognizing them do not appear to keep pace. The complex interrelationship of multiple disease processes and their management confounds traditional diagnostic and therapeutic tactics, demanding a systematic approach for understanding and effectiveness. Problem orientation, rather than diagnostic formulation and steriotyped therapy, allows a practical approach to unravelling geriatric multiplexity.
