Saboteurs, scapegoats and secrets: diagnosis in family therapy.

Abstract

The importance of seeing the whole family at least at the diagnostic interview is stressed. This applies particularly to children who have behavior disorders, psychosomatic illnesses and chronic physical diseases. Some of the techniques families use to mislead the unwary are outlined with case examples.
