Caring for the pregnant diabetic.

T R Martin.

Abstract

The perinatal mortality and morbidity associated with diabetes is too high. The importance of history and glucose tolerance test in making the diagnosis is stressed. Once the diagnosis is made an expert team should tend the mother and child. Particular attention should be directed towards a good diet and vigorous insulin therapy.
