Abstract
Strokes account for five out of every 1,000 general hospital admissions. Postoperative care can be frustrating, but with judicious use of allied health workers, and careful assessment of the patient's condition, most patients who survive can be rehabilitated to a considerable degree of self-care. The patient's family must be included in the team, and his preferences in activities must be considered. This article describes the results of a study done on 244 patient charts at a convalescent hospital in Toronto.Entities:
