Crocks: expensive crockery.

D L Keegan.

Abstract

The technology of medicine is rapidly advancing, often to the neglect of the old clinical doctor-patient relationship. The present tendency to emphasize diagnostic tests and pharmacology is a particularly poor substitute in these patients. Acknowledging that the number of patients called crocks may be small, the author offers an approach to minimizing both human and financial costs.
