Assessment of patients with chronic airways obstruction.

Abstract

Patients with chronic severe airway obstruction need to be assessed periodically. Symptoms and physical signs may often be unreliable and they need to be reinforced by observation of changes in sputum appearance, airway obstruction, and alveolar ventilation.
