Abstract
SUMMARY: A 3-month-old boy presented with progressive pallor since the age of 1 month. Hemogram and bone marrow aspirate were suggestive of pure red cell aplasia. Serum bilirubin and aminotransferases were elevated. Cytomegalovirus serology and DNA polymerase chain reaction were positive. Fetal hemoglobin was normal and Parvovirus B19 DNA polymerase chain reaction was negative. Through this case report, we wish to highlight a rare, might be causative association of cytomegalovirus infection with pure red cell aplasia.Entities:
