Abstract
Preventive care comprises all actions and activities aimed at preventing the formation and spread of the adverse health effects that are directly or indirectly related to the conditions or the nature of work. According to current trends in occupational health (outlined by the World Health Organization and the International Labor Organization), the issue of psychosocial risks should fall under the framework of preventive care. The article presents the current situation in Poland concerning the prevention of psychosocial risks at work. The author discusses the legal basis for preventive care of workers and strategies for developing preventive programs, and also gives some examples of existing practices in this field (measures undertaken by occupational health services, National Labor Inspectorate, departmental and business services).Mesh:
