Abstract
Examining memory is required in various circumstances. A simple rule never to be forgotten is that the examination of mnemonic capacities must not be separated from examination of other cognitive capacities. The first stage is clinical. The evaluation of mnemonic efficiency--i.e. the ability to store and retrieve new information--is the essential part of the examination and is carried out by means of standardized tests. Old memory, short-term memory, semantic memory and procedural memory must also be evaluated.Mesh:
