Abstract
Unfamiliar cystic formations may develop in the anterior vaginal wall. In view of the close proximity of the anterior vagina to the urethra and bladder, it is important that management of such masses is carefully planned after detailed examination and investigation. Herein, we present the case of an unusual painful swelling in the anterior vaginal wall that was first diagnosed as vaginal wall prolapse. Despite thorough preoperative investigations, the origin of the mass as a urethral diverticulum was confirmed only at pathologic analysis. Copyright 2010 AAGL. Published by Elsevier Inc.
