Silicon oxynitride; a material for GRIN optics.

Abstract

The usefulness of the SiO(2)-Si(3)N(4) system for gradient-index optics has been investigated. Dispersion data, temperature dependence of the refractive index, and physical properties are presented. Preparation techniques are discussed.
