Abstract
BACKGROUND: Fat-free mass (FFM) depletion marks the imbalance between tissue protein synthesis and breakdown in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). To date, the role of essential amino acid supplementation (EAAs) in FFM repletion has not been fully acknowledged.
