Abstract
Mental health laws have traditionally been based on notions of individual rather than collective human rights. This column analyses some of the issues raised by the introduction of legislative provisions promoting the rights of carers. The new Scottish system of "named persons" is outlined, as well as other recent provisions enabling access to information and more involvement in decision-making processes.Entities:
