Pathophysiology of unstable angina.

This article discusses the heterogeneous clinical spectrum of atherosclerotic coronary artery disease. The clinical manifestations and pathophysiology of unstable angina as well as atherosclerotic coronary stenosis, mechanisms of plaque fissure, factors that contribute to coronary artery obstruction, and mechanisms of platelet aggregation and thrombosis are discussed.
