Transmucosal endoscopic needle aspiration: utility in the diagnosis of extrinsic malignant masses of the gastrointestinal tract.

Transmucosal endoscopic needle aspiration established the diagnosis in three patients with extrinsic malignant compression of the GI tract. The technique had not been applied previously to the diagnosis of such lesions. Our initial experience shows it to be a safe and effective method.
