Skier's hip--a new clinical entity? Proximal femur fractures sustained in cross-country skiing.

Ten proximal femur fractures have been seen in patients who were cross-country skiing. An awareness of the dangers of this sport plus preventive and protective equipment may reduce the incidence of these injuries.
