Preliminary results with toluene for retained urinary catheters.

Abstract

Several methods for the deflation of a retained balloon catheter have been recommended. An experimental study was done to determine whether a better chemical could be made available for this problem. This preliminary report indicates toluene to be the better choice for such retained catheters.
