Abstract

In order to investigate the relationship between depth within membranes of singlet oxygen generation and effectiveness of photodynamic therapy of n class="Disease">tumors, analogs of protoporphyrin-IX 1 bearing five 4 and seven 5 carbon atoms (in place of the 3-carbon atom chain in 1) were synthesized from monopyrrole precursors.
