Self-esteem as a factor in social and domestic violence.

Abstract

Psychoanalytical ideas are used to outline how poor narcissistic development can lead to poor regulation of self-esteem. This in turn often underlies domestic violence, the short-term treatment of which can be aided by psychodynamic understanding.
