Abstract
Tight junctions are heteromeric protein complexes that act as signaling centers by mediating the bidirectional transmission of information between the environment and the cell interior to control paracellular permeability and differentiation. Insight into tight junction-associated signaling mechanisms is of fundamental importance for our understanding of the physiology of epithelia and endothelia in health and disease.Mesh:
