Abstract
The incidence of cough in children receiving antihypertension therapy with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEis) or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) is unknown. We analyzed patient-level data from eight randomized trials for the treatment of pediatric hypertension, six of them involving ACEis and two involving ARBs. The incidence of cough in children receiving ACEis (reported cough, 3.2%) was similar to that in children receiving ARBs (reported cough, 1.8%) (P = 0.34).
