Stress fracture of the lumbar pedicle. Case reports of "pediculolysis" and review of the literature.

R Gunzburg1, R D Fraser.

Abstract

Cases of lumbar pedicle stress fractures are described and the term "pediculolysis" introduced. The condition may be bilateral or, more commonly, may occur in association with contralateral spondylolysis. A method of direct repair with pedicle screw fixation is described.
