Abstract
A case of clostridial uterine infection following prolonged labor and vaginal delivery is presented. Uterine myonecrosis with gas formation was diagnosed by radiologic studies. Antimicrobial therapy with megadosage penicillin was initiated and total abdominal hysterectomy performed. Three episodes of cardiac arrest occurred during surgery. Resuscitation was carried out with recovery.Entities:
