Abstract
Degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis commonly disables and functionally limits the aging population. Degenerative changes may constrict the spinal canal, lateral recesses, and neural foramina, compressing the neural elements. Clinicians can make an earlier, more accurate diagnosis by using advanced imaging techniques. Nonoperative management is the mainstay of treatment, although surgery is indicated in patients who have progressive neurologic decline or when nonoperative measures have failed to adequately address symptoms.Entities:
