Chronic periodontitis in an eighteenth century population.

V Kingsmill.

Abstract

Variations in susceptibility to periodontitis were studied in an eighteenth century population of adult skulls, using measurements of the distance between the cemento-enamel junction and the alveolar crest. Results suggest that present concepts of variation in susceptibility to chronic periodontitis also apply to this eighteenth century population.
