How long can a gastric erosion persist?

L Walk1.

Abstract

In the long-term course of idiopathic erosions, some of the many erosions in a stomach may persist for a surprisingly long time, changing in appearance, while others heal and recur through years and decades. Roentgenologically, this could be shown over 5-15 years; the lesion was still present at the end of the follow-up, and in some cases its connection with erosions was no longer obvious.
