Abstract
Traumatic spondylolisthesis of the axis is rarely associated with neurological deficit. The authors describe a case of complete tetraplegia due to spinal cord rupture at T1 without any other osteoligamentous lesion at the level. The mechanism of this lesion is discussed; it seems to be due to hyperflexion, with preceding hyperextension responsible for the C2 pedicular fracture.Entities:
