Abstract
This review discusses the physiology of the hormones leptin, adiponectin, resistin, peptide YY, and ghrelin and how each of these contributes to energy homoeostasis, weight regulation, and the pathogenesis of obesity. The relationship these hormones have with insulin and insulin resistance is also discussed, and the potential therapeutic use of each of these hormones is also considered. 2009 S.
