Abstract
The treatment of gunshot wounds involving bones or joints remains controversial. Antibiotics and thorough debridement may not be necessary for many of these wounds (stable fractures with minimal soft-tissue damage). However, as in the treatment of open fractures and joint injuries from blunt trauma, the damage to the skin frequently is not a good indicator of the amount of soft tissue to be found underneath.Entities:
