Abstract
BMPs are best known for their actions as bone formation signals. Recent studies using transgenic mice in which individual osteogenic BMPs have been removed from the limb skeleton have identified BMP2 as a fundamental component of the inherent regenerative capacity of bone. This review summarizes current findings on the specific requirement for BMP2 in bone formation and repair.Entities:
