Calcifications in clear cell mucoepidermoid carcinomas.

Shaodong Yang1, Xinming Chen.

Abstract

Information concerning calcifications in clear cell mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MC) of the salivary gland is very scarce, with only 2 earlier reports in the literature. Seven cases of clear cell MC in our institution were reviewed. Unexpectedly, frequent calcifications were confirmed microscopically in 2 cases. This finding suggests that clear cell MC should be considered in the differential diagnosis of salivary gland tumors with calcification. Copyright (c) 2010 Mosby, Inc. All rights reserved.
