Abstract
The total CO(2) produced by aseptic Drosophila cultures during the entire duration of life has been determined at 15 degrees , 26 degrees , and 30 degrees C. in the dark and at 22-26 degrees C. in the light. The total amount of CO(2) produced is not constant but is greater at 15 degrees than at 26 degrees or 30 degrees , and is much greater in the light than in the dark. The total duration of life, therefore, is not determined by the time required to produce a limiting amount of CO(2).Entities:
