CRITICAL THERMAL INCREMENTS FOR OXYGEN CONSUMPTION OF AN INSECT, DROSOPHILA MELANOGASTER.

P R Orr1.

Abstract

The critical thermal increments are calculated for oxygen consumption in the pupae of the "wild type" fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, and are found to be of two types: micro = 11,500 and 16,800; above 15 degrees C. the first value is obtained, the second, below this temperature.
